According to the UAE National News reported on June 1, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Investment Committee announced that they were considering the development of high acidity gas field development in the southwestern part of Abu Dhabi, with a total project size of about $ 20 billion, including the five natural gas fields of Hail, Ghasha, Delma, Nasr and Shuwaihat. It is reported that together with the already developed Al Hosn gas field in the northwest of Abu Dhabi, the total reserves of natural gas in the western region are up to about 5 trillion cubic feet and the daily output is estimated at about 1 billion cubic feet. It can resolve 18% of natural gas demand of UAE by 2020. The ADNOC is expected to begin bidding for the early design and construction services of the natural gas project from June, and it is reported that it has been in contact with several engineering design companies from Australia and the UK. British Trade Association EIC Connect Dubai Director Terry said that as for the construction enterprises, the project will be another great opportunity following the Abu Dhabi Zakum 750 offshore oil project.
