According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the price of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was reported at 4096.4 yuan/ton in early March, down 646.1 yuan/ton or 13.6% from the previous period, and the downward trend in LNG prices since late February was maintained. The analysis shows that the growth rate of China's natural gas production is still far from meeting the huge consumption gap. In response, China has significantly increased its natural gas imports. By the end of last year, China has become the world's second largest importer of LNG.
