ConocoPhillips Alaska North Slope New Project Puts Into Operation

ConocoPhillips recently announced that the 1H NEWS heavy oil development project at the Kuparuk River block, 40 miles west of Prudhoe Bay, on the northern slope of Alaska, USA. The company expects the peak production of 1H NEWS project to reach 8,000 barrels per day in 2018. The Kuparuk River Block is also home to s-213a, the first of five branches of the North Slope of Alaska, which was drilled by the operator BP in 2005 and is still in production up to now.

It is reported that the interests of the Kuparuk River block constitute ConocoPhillips 55.3%, BP39.2%, Chevron 4.9%, Exxon Mobil 0.6%.
