Shell's Profit Increased By 42% Greatly In The First Quarter
May 21, 2018

Recently, Shell released the quarterly report for the first quarter of 2018, showing that profits increased by 42% year-on-year, the highest in three years, well above analysts' expectations. Based on the current supply costs and the elimination of certain items, the net income of allocable shareholders after the determination of items has increased by a year-on-year growth of US$5.322 billion, compared to the net income of only US$3.754 billion at the time last year.

Shell's performance in the first quarter was mainly attributed to higher oil and gas prices and strong performance in the integrated natural gas business, as well as an increase in upstream business profits.
