Vietnam Considers Increasing Import Duties On Petroleum Products From July 1

According to Platts Singapore report on May 23, industry sources said on Wednesday that Vietnam is now considering increasing the environmental tax on imports of petroleum products from July 1. According to market sources, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam has proposed to the Vietnamese Prime Minister to increase the import tax on petroleum products, and the proposal of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam is currently under review.

A source in Vietnam said: "The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam has proposed a proposal to increase the import tax on all petroleum products, but this proposal has not yet been approved."

Further details about the tax proposal cannot be confirmed immediately. Vietnam imposes 3,000 dong (13 cents) per liter of imports of petroleum products currently.
